INTRODUCTION
Rothley Park Cricket Club are preparing a detailed planning application for a new world class facility on land at West Cross Lane/The Ridings, Rothley.
Rothley Park Cricket Club is a very successful club which supports around 350 local people. The Cricket Club has provided a valuable sporting facility in Rothley for over 200 years, and membership and participation levels have grown significantly in recent years. The existing Cricket Club on Westfield Lane is located approximately 900m to the south east of the new site and would remain part of the Cricket Club. The existing facilities are outdated and the existing site is not able to facilitate the scale of new development necessary to cater for the requirements of a modern state of the art Cricket Club and sporting academy.
The proposed development will include a cricket pitch, pavilion, a clubhouse with bar and kitchen facilities, a new academy training centre with 3 indoor cricket nets, a new gym, a tractor store and scorers room and parking facilities with EV charging points.
Policy CS15 of the Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy 2011-2028 confirms that the Council will work with partners to meet strategic open space needs of the community, including responding positively to development which contributes to sport provision, and securing long-term management and investment plans for existing and new facilities.

A new Academy Training Centre which will include three contemporary indoor cricket nets, a new gym with separate changing room facilities, equipment storage and an office space.

A cricket pavilion with changing rooms for the players and umpires, a physio and recovery room.

A tractor store and scorers room, which combines equipment for pitch maintenance and a room for the scorer with an all-round view during play and a scoreboard.
A clubhouse with a bar and kitchen facilities, office/meeting room and a viewing terrace.
A new car park with overflow parking and provision of EV charging points.
